Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (4:48pm, September 18, 2021) that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was “outstanding” against Burnley today.
The former Arsenal star was impressed by the performance of Ramsdale during the Gunners’ 1-0 win against Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League this afternoon.
Martin Odegaard’s goal from a direct free kick on the half-hour mark proved to be the difference between the two sides.
While Sky Sports pundit Merson was impressed by the Norway international attacking midfielder’s goal, he also thought that Ramsdale, signed from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, was superb.
Merson said about Ramsdale on Sky Sports News (4:48pm, September 18, 2021): “He has been absolutely outstanding. I have been one of his biggest critics. He has definitely been outstanding today.”

Number one goalkeeper for Arsenal?
Ramsdale has now played three matches for the Gunners, and the Arsenal goalkeeper has kept three clean sheets.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper did not concede against West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Burnley.

The goalkeeper looked very good with his feet against Burnley today and looked assured at the back.
Based on Ramdale’s performances, it is really hard to see Arteta drop him now.
Bernd Leno is now going to struggle to get into the Arsenal starting lineup and will have to stay on the bench for now.
