Paul Merson has predicted on Sportskeeda that Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur will lose against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend.

Tottenham will take on Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson has backed the Blues to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.

Merson wrote on Sportskeeda: “I don’t see anything other than a Chelsea win. As for Spurs, this has been the way for quite a while now.

“They get to a certain place and start playing well, but suddenly, they face a struggling side and lose rather comprehensively! Crystal Palace scored two late goals, but Spurs never looked like winning even when it was 1-0.

“I watched Chelsea play against Zenit in the UEFA Champions League and Romelu Lukaku didn’t have too many chances.

“However, he popped up to score the matchwinner with a brilliant goal and that is exactly what he brings to the team – I fancy him to score every time he plays!

“The fans will be up for this one and I predict Chelsea to be too strong for Spurs on the night.”

A footnote added: “Prediction:Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Chelsea.”

Who will win Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea?

Tottenham started the season strongly, but things are not going so well for Nuno at the moment.

Spurs suffered a 3-0 defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend.

True, Tottenham went down to 10 men in the second half, but overall it was a very poor performance from Spurs who struggled to create anything for star striker Harry Kane.

Then Spurs played out a 2-2 draw with Rennes away from home in the Europa Conference League on Thursday evening.

On the other hand, Chelsea are looking very strong and are certainly a big contender for the Premier League title.

Tuchel’s side won 3-0 against Aston Villa in the league last weekend and then beat Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Champions League in midweek.

Chelsea will fancy their chances against Spurs, but this is a London derby and anything is possible.
