Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici has reportedly stepped up his efforts to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
JuveLive claims that the Spurs official is ‘eager’ to bring the Ivory Coast international to north London in January.
Kessie’s contract with Milan expires next summer, and the Serie A giants are currently struggling to agree on a deal with the 24-year-old midfielder.
As per the report, Kessie is apparently ‘overwhelmed’ with the interest he has received from Tottenham in recent months. The former Atalanta star was a target for Spurs in the summer, but a deal never materialised.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are eager to sign a midfielder. Moussa Sissoko departed for Watford in the final days of the transfer window, and Spurs were unable to bring in a replacement for the French international.
However, it appears that Kessie is the club’s main target to fill in the void left by Sissoko in the Tottenham midfield. The dynamic player joined Milan in 2017 from Atalanta for a reported fee of €28m (£23m) according to FotMob.

And since then, Kessie has firmly established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A. Moreover, the Ivorian is often cited as a reason why Milan have been able to return to the top of European football via qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Indeed, Tottenham are in need of a quality partner for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Moreover, Kessie is the perfect candidate to take over this role given his skill set and work rate, which would work well in Premier League football.
