Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has praised Leon Balogun for his performance against Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership today, as quoted on BBC Sport.
The Gers got the better of Celtic 1-0 at home in the Old Firm today.
Filip Helander scored the only goal of the Scottish Premiership match on 66 minutes.
Rangers assistant manager McAllister has said that 33-year-old defender Balogun was superb against the Hoops.
BBC Sport quotes McAllister as saying: “From one to eleven we were outstanding, but if I have to pick one Leon Balogun was superb.
“His defensive display showed why we brought him here. He can play three or four different positions.”

How did Leon Balogun play?
Balogun joined Rangers last summer and has established himself as an important player in manager Steven Gerrard’s team.
The defender made 15 starts and four substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership and made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Rangers last season.

The Nigerian has done well for the Gers so far this campaign and was at his best against Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
Balogun is a centre-back by trade, but he started at right-back against Celtic.
The veteran worked hard and was defensively strong throughout.
The defender had a pass accuracy of 73.7%, won one header, took 74 touches, attempted one dribble, made four tackles and seven clearances, and put in one cross.
