Big win for Rangers

Okay, it is only August and this was the first Old Firm derby of the season, but it was still a big win for Rangers.

Rangers are the defending Scottish champions, and a defeat to Celtic at Ibrox would have been very bad.

The win against the Hoops today for Rangers has let the Bhoys know that they mean business this season.

The Gers had only 34% of the possession, but they took 14 shots. Celtic had just nine.

Today’s game is not a title-decider, but a win in the Old Firm derby is only going to enhance Rangers’ confidence after a rather disappointing start to the season.

Rangers are now third in the Scottish Premiership table with nine points from four matches, while Celtic currently find themselves sixth with six points.
