Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has admitted that Takehiro Tomiyasu ‘could make it to the Premier League’ amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.
Unless something drastic happens over the next 24 hours, tomorrow could be the last time the Japan international pulls on that blue-and-red striped shirt.
Tomiyasu has been linked with a move away from Bologna on an almost weekly basis over the last 12 months or so and things could be about to heat up as we enter the final few days of a frantic transfer window.
Tottenham continue to be the most likely destination.
But, as Calciomercato pointed out this morning, a £17 million deal will only be possible if Spurs manage to sell a player or two first.
Moussa Sissoko’s impending move to Watford, then, could hardly have come at a better time.
Wolves are still in the market for a centre-half themselves, however, with Sky naming Tomiyasu is one of the targets alongside Duje Caleta-Car, Sven Botman and Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.
And do not rule out a late bid from Arsenal or West Ham United, although the latter do appear to be closing in – at long last – on Kurt Zouma (Gazzetta dello Sport).
Is Takehiro Tomiyasu heading to England?

“I just try to make him understand that, as long as one is in our team, he must be a professional to the end. If he were to leave I would be happy for him because he arrived here when he was a stranger and now he could go to the Premier League,” says Mihajlovic.
“If he stayed, I’d be happy for us. We are here waiting for what happens.
“The important thing is that, until the transfer market ends, he puts himself at our disposal. Tomorrow, I will include him (in the squad) because we are still a bit in an emergency even if I have some doubts whether to let him play…”
Bologna director Riccardo Bigon confirmed back in July that Tottenham had indeed ‘made a bid’ for Tomiyasu, via Fabrizio Romano.
