Reported Arsenal target Bernardo Silva does not want to join Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The Athletic have reported that Silva does not want to move to Tottenham in any swap deal involving Spurs striker Harry Kane and Manchester City.
City are keen on signing Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
Silva, who can play as a midfielder or as a winger, wants to leave the Premier League champions and prefers a move to Spain.
The Portugal international attacker’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been pushing for a switch to Spurs, but the 27-year-old himself has made it clear that he does not wish to join the North London outfit.

Arsenal also failed in Bernardo Silva pursuit
Tottenham are not the only North London club who have been turned down by Silva.
Arsenal have also reportedly failed in their quest to sign the former AS Monaco star, described as “a phenomenon” by City teammate Ruben Dias on the Premier League’s YouTube channel in May 2021.

Journalist Filipe Dias told Sky Sports last week that Silva has rejected the chance to switch to Arsenal.
Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that Arsenal are exploring a move for Silva.
It will be interesting to see what happens now with Silva.
The Portugal international may prefer a move to Spain, but until and unless any club from La Liga make a suitable offer for him, he will be ‘stuck’ at City.
