According to Dharmesh Sheth on Sky Sports, David Moyes has made a huge decision in West Ham’s pursuit of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic.
What’s the story?
Speaking live on air, Sheth revealed that Moyes pulled the plug on a deal for the 23-year-old, who is also wanted by Tottenham.
Sheth said: “That looked very close, and we all thought Milenkovic would be coming to the London Stadium. But, I’m told David Moyes decided he wasn’t 100% convinced he was the right man for his squad.”
Now, this is pretty big, if true.
So far, West Ham have made just one signing in the capture of Alphonse Areola on a season-long loan.
With Europa League football on the agenda too, the Hammers need added squad depth, something they can find in the transfer market.
However, the Irons seem all too reluctant to get their chequebook out.
Surely David Moyes didn’t do that?

We’re not too sure about this one.
West Ham have been linked with Milenkovic all summer, so why would Moyes perform a U-turn when the deal finally looked close?
Of course, it’s entirely realistic that the Scot had a last minute change of heart – the news will be music to Tottenham’s ears at least, as they now have a free run at him.
However, you’d expect him to be completely sold on the £14.5m defender, having tracked him for most of the summer.

If it is true, it just feels like a huge waste of time from Moyes and West Ham.
Now, the Irons have roughly two weeks to bolster their squad.
If they fail to do so, then it could potentially ruin the 2021/22 season.
