Inter Milan have reached a verbal agreement with PSV over the signing of 25-year-old right-back Denzel Dumfries.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international is set to join the Serie A champions after a deal was struck between Inter and PSV.

As per the Sky Italia journalist, personal terms have been agreed and the UEFA Champions League side will book a medical for the Dumfies soon.

Fabrizio Romano signed off with his now-famous ‘here we go’ catchphrase. Indeed, the news will be a blow to both Arsenal and Everton.

The Gunners had been hoping Hector Bellerin would join Inter. The north London side eager to sell the Spain international.

As for Everton, the Toffees have been keen on the PSV star for the majority of the transfer window. However, Rafa Benitez’s side have acted too slow in getting a deal done for the fullback, with Inter now set to sign Dumfries.

With just under three weeks of the transfer window left, both Arsenal and Everton will now have to draw up alternative plans for what to do with their problems.

For the Gunners, they will need to shop around Europe to find a suitable buyer for Bellerin who will be willing to take the Catalan right-back off their hands for good this window. Arsenal are not open to letting the 26-year-old leave on loan.

As for Everton, they have some time on their hands to identify a new right-back who is both affordable and willing to join the project Benitez is building in the blue half of Merseyside.
