Brazil won gold at the Olympic Games last Sunday, but that hasn’t stopped Gabriel Martinelli from returning to Arsenal training this week.
As per Football London, the 20-year-old attacker returned to London Colney within 48 hours of Brazil’s 2-1 win over Spain in the final of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Whilst Martinelli played just 75 minutes of the summer competition in Japan, the Arsenal attacker was impressive for Brazil’s U-23 side.
The Guarulhos-born attacker led the line well against the Ivory Coast. But Martinelli’s penalty against Mexico in the semi-final shoot-out was a notable highlight for the Arsenal youngster.
Indeed, the South American attacker probably played less than most Arsenal fans would have expected. But with Martinelli having a staggered 2020/21 season due to injury, a summer of limited football is probably ideal.
The new campaign, which Arsenal will kick-off on Friday night, will no doubt be a big one for Martinelli. After all, the attacker is one of Arsenal’s highest-rated youngsters and a player of immense potential.

And on social media, fans are buzzing to see Martinelli already back in training just two days Brazil’s gold medal match at the Olympic Games.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about Martinelli returning to first-team training on Twitter…
