Spurs are reportedly internally not confident in completing a deal for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez.
According to Football London, Tottenham are not hopeful over signing the Argentine striker. However, this is in large part to Chelsea’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.
As reported by BBC Sport, the UEFA Champions League winners are on the brink of signing the Inter star. And this transfer could force the Serie A champions into retaining Martinez despite interest from Spurs.
Whilst the Milanese club are in need of funds this summer, the sale of Lukaku could be more than enough to keep them financially sound for the season.
Indeed, the transfer would be the highest fee a Serie A club has ever received for a player and by far and away Inter’s record sale.
Moreover, for Spurs, it could virtually rule them out of the race for Martinez. Although the striker is eager to join, there are suggestions that the attacker could sign a new contract with Inter.

And on social media, some Spurs fans are fuming that the club could be about to lose out on Martinez. Furthermore, supporters are frustrated that club internally are not confident in a deal.
Here’s what some Spurs supporters had to say about the latest on Martinez on Twitter…
