Andy Couzens has joked on Twitter that Lionel Messi is on his way to Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
The former Leeds midfielder has made the post while responding to Jermaine Beckford’s tweet on Messi.
Barcelona announced on their official website last night that Argentina international forward Messi is leaving.
So, this means that the 2021 Copa America winner is now a free agent.
Lionel Messi to Leeds United?
Okay, it’s not going to happen. We all know that.
But it does not cost money to dream.
Can you imagine Messi rocking up at Elland Road and playing under his Argentine compatriot Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League this season?
Leeds returned to the Premier League only last season after 2004 and finished ninth in the table.

With Messi in the team, the West Yorkshire club could aim for higher – much, much higher.
Of course, Leeds would have to fork out a fortune to pay Messi for even a year.
The Argentine was reportedly earning €45 million (£38.23m) per year at Barcelona.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have already been linked with Messi.
But, until Messi signs for a new club, Leeds fans – as well as supporters of other clubs – can always dream.
