Gary Lineker has suggested on Twitter that Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea could now join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the race for Lionel Messi.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona striker believes that City or Paris Saint-Germain are the most likely destination for Messi.
The Match of the Day pundit has added that Chelsea are “the only other possibility” for the 34-year-old Argentina international forward.
Barcelona announced on their official website last night that Messi is leaving the club.
The Argentine is now a free agent.
The Sun have reported that Premier League champions City are interested in the Argentine superstar.
PSG are already in talks, according to Sky Sports.

Lionel Messi to the Premier League?
City and Chelsea are rich clubs, and they would be attractive and appealing to Messi.
The Citizens won the Premier League title last season, while Chelsea clinched the Champions League.
Messi was reportedly earning €45 million (£38.23m) per year at Barcelona.

Now, that is a lot of money to pay one player in one year, but for Messi, City or Chelsea could feel that it is worth it.
City might actually have an advantage because of Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola worked with Messi at Barcelona, and the 2021 Copa America winner might be tempted to reunite with him.
