£7 million Argentina international Adolfo Gaich has an offer on the table from Leeds United but the CSKA Moscow misfit would rather play in Serie A than the Premier League, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
At least Benevento will have the memories of that 1-0 win at Juventus in March to warm their cockles on those cold winter nights in Serie B.
Gaich, on loan at The Sorcerers, scored the only goal of the game at the Allianz Stadium as Benevento conjured up one of the biggest wins in their history.
That, however, was one of just seven wins Benevento enjoyed in 2020/21, not enough to save the club from relegation.
So Gaich, nicknamed ‘The Tank’ in Argentina thanks to his fearsome 6ft 3in frame, suddenly faces an uncertain future at club level. Benevento are unable to afford a permanent deal for a man who has barely kicked a ball for CSKA since moving to Russia for £7 million last summer.
Leeds have been chasing Adolfo Gaich for more than a year
Gaich was heavily linked with Leeds before heading to Moscow in July 2020.

And, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Marcelo Bielsa remains an admirer. The Yorkshire giants having submitted an offer for a man who has been compared to Erling Haaland and described as “similar to (Robert) Lewandowski”, even if he lacks the goalscoring record to match those Bundesliga superstars.
The report adds, however, that Gaich has his heart set on returning to Italy for a second stab at Serie A football.
It isn’t certain whether the once-capped Albiceleste ace has many admirers in the Italian top flight though, with the only serious offer so far coming from the rolling hills of West Yorkshire.
With the new Premier League season just days away, Patrick Bamford remains Leeds’ only real centre-forward, although Rodrigo Moreno and Tyler Roberts can also play through the middle if required.
