Both Arsenal and Chelsea are using games such as this to build up their fitness for the new Premier League season.
Partey will be a big player for Mikel Arteta’s side this season.
The Ghana international defensive midfielder had injury problems last season, but when he was fit and available, the 28-year-old showed his class.
Arsenal fans would have expected Partey to play well against Chelsea today.
Unfortunately for the Emirates Stadium faithful, the former Atletico Madrid star suffered an injury.
Partey suffered a challenge in midfield and was treated for a couple of minutes.
It seemed that Partey was fine, but the midfielder was soon replaced by Granit Xhaka.
