This time last summer, the Gunners were looking to bring Partey to North London, as they paid £45 million for his midfield talents (Sky Sports).

And after his debut campaign in English football, Wilshere, who shared that he has played against Partey, has backed him to smash it ahead of the new campaign.

“I like Partey,” said Wilshere. “I think there’s more to come from him. I think he had ups and downs last season.

“But I think he’s going to come good this season. He’s a really good player. I have played against him a few times. He’s very good.”

This is a big season for Partey and one that has to go right for him, else many will start to worry.

During his days at Atletico Madrid, the Ghanian superstar didn’t have many injury problems, until he turned up at the Emirates.

He will be hoping for luck in that department and some stability behind him because these Arsenal players simply cannot afford to stagnate once more.

If there is a feeling or sense that Arsenal aren’t improving under Mikel Arteta then he will be out of the door in next to no time.
