It was inevitable that once Arsenal-linked James Maddison was left out of Leicester City’s squad that there’d be a flurry of speculation on social media – and there was.

The England international, who didn’t make it to Euro 2020, has been heavily linked with a £60 million move to Arsenal in recent weeks.

And with Brendan Rodgers not including him in his squad for a friendly with QPR today, Gunners fans were obviously going to notice.

Here’s how some supporters reacted:

Is he going to Arsenal?

Maddison might be swapping Leicester for North London, yes.

But this omission by Rodgers is not an indication of anything relating to a potential transfer to Arsenal.

Despite training with his Leicester teammates on Friday, Maddison, whose girlfriend is 34 weeks pregnant, was seemingly not dropped from the squad for transfer reasons.

Jordan Blackwell of the Leicester Mercury tweeted this in response to Arsenal fans’ reactions:

The Emirates Stadium side announced their third signing of the summer on Friday by unveiling Ben White in what was a £50 million move.

White has joined Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga in North London.

And time will tell whether the Leicester playmaker is also swapping the King Power Stadium for the Emirates.
