Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Arsenal target Lautaro Martinez, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Arsenal are interested in signing Martinez from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have already made an enquiry about the 23-year-old striker, described by his Argentina international teammate Lionel Messi as “spectacular”, “impressive” and “complete” in Mundo Deportivo in May 2020.
The young striker himself is open to a move to Arsenal if Inter are willing to sell him.
However, there is a threat from Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals Tottenham.
It is being reported that Tottenham are also interested in the Copa America winner.

Spurs are looking at the 23-year-old ‘as a contingency option’ if Harry Kane leaves.
The Tottenham striker is reportedly wanted by Manchester City and Chelsea.
Lautaro Martinez would make Tottenham better
Martinez is one of the best and most promising young strikers in Europe, and the 23-year-old would make Spurs better in attack.
After all, you do not get praise from the great Messi if you are not a quality footballer.
Martinez scored 17 goals and gave six assists in Serie A last season, and scored 14 goals and gave three assists in the league in 2019-20.

The Inter striker would immediately make Tottenham better and more potent in attack.
Of course, if Kane stays at Tottenham, then the North London club will not need to sign a new striker, especially as Son Heung-min has proven to be a good source of goals.
However, Spurs should continue to monitor Martinez’s situation and should be ready to pounce if Kane leaves.
