According to 90min, Liverpool and Manchester City are keen to sign Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martínez.

Despite recently winning Serie A, the Italian giants are in big trouble financially. 90min believe they will have to make one major sale this summer.

As a result, Martínez could depart the San Siro.

90min state that Inter previously wanted £70 million for the forward who they paid £18.9 million for.

However, they will now accept an offer below that sum, given their desperation for cash.

If Liverpool or Manchester City managed to sign the 19-cap Argentina international, it would be one of the captures of the summer.

The 23-year-old scored 21 goals last season, and has continued his fine form with 18 goals this term.

One man who’s a big fan of Martínez, aside from Liverpool and Manchester City, is none other than Lionel Messi.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner thinks his international teammate is a ‘spectacular’ player, who is ‘very strong’ and has ‘great dribbling’ ability.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Messi said: “Lautaro is spectacular, you could tell that he would have become a great footballer, now he has exploded and is showing it.

“He is an impressive striker. I think he’s complete and has many qualities. He is very strong, has great dribbling skills, matched with the ability to score goals, and knows how to protect the ball.”

This really would be a brilliant signing.

At 23, Inter Milan’s No.10 has loads of time to get even better, which is frightening seeing how good he already is.

Additionally, there may never be a better opportunity to sign him, with Inter Milan struggling financially.

With Sergio Agüero heading for the Etihad Stadium exit door, Martínez would arguably be the most like-for-like replacement out there.

In Liverpool’s case, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané have struggled this season, so Martínez would provide a nice alternative for Jürgen Klopp.

Keep an eye on this saga, as it seems likely that Inter Milan will make a big sale.
