Reported Celtic target Josip Juranovic has already admitted that he would consider a move away from Legia Warsaw this summer, in quotes reported by Sportske Novosti.

After failing to secure the signatures of Milan Van Ewijk, Sacha Boey and Valentin Rosier while being priced out of a deal for George Baldock, you can hardly blame Celtic if they are reluctant to put all their eggs in the Aurelio Buta basket.

According to Walfoot, the Glasgow giants are on the verge of sealing a £3 million deal for the Royal Antwerp flyer.

Celtic should know by now, however, that best laid plans do not always go to plan so that is maybe why the Hoops are still hot on the heels of alternative options.

If not Aurelio Buta then Josip Juranovic for Celtic?

Sky Sports claim that Juranovic, the Croatia international who shone during the 2-0 win at Hampden Park in the Euro 2020 group-stages, is one such option.

The Zagreb-born 25-year-old would cost a similar fee to what Royal Antwerp are demanding for Buta.

What’s more, Juranovic is open to the idea of leaving the club he joined as recently as last summer, having enhanced his reputation on the biggest of stages.

“I am bound to Legia Warsaw for another two years but everything is open,” Juranovic said. “If there is an offer that satisfies both parties…”

Obviously impressed by the way he dealt with Andy Robertson and co on the hallowed Hampden turf, there is a chance to Juranovic could be plying his trade in Glasgow week-in, week-out next season.

Celtic’s chances may go up in smoke, however, if they cannot find a way to overcome Midtjylannd in the Champions League qualifiers on Wednesday.

While Celtic’s progression is on the line, Legia have one foot in the next stage after defeating Estonia-based outfit Flora Talinn in the first leg last week.
