Celtic have been rejected by Rennes defender Sacha Boey after offering him a contract, according to a new report from L’Equipe.
It’s claimed that the Bhoys made a contractual offer to Boey in the hope of luring him to Glasgow this summer.
However, it’s stated that Boey has rejected the approach, and the reason stated is rather strange.
The report claims a ‘sulphurous’ English agent was involved in the deal, and with Boey unhappy about it, he has rejected the move completely.
Celtic may have been using intermediaries in the deal, but that could now cost them a shot at Boey with the Frenchman unimpressed.
Boey, 20, spent last season on loan at Dijon but is now back with Rennes.

During his time with Dijon, Boey impressed up against Neymar in a battle with Paris Saint-Germain, and looks to have potential given his age.
Celtic need to bolster their right back options this summer, and Boey had been picked out as a potential solution to the situation.
Celtic must now go back to the drawing board in their search for a right back unless they can get Boey back into talks.
