Kris Boyd has urged Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou to sign Fraser Forster now, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.
The former Rangers striker does not think that Vasilis Barkas is good enough for Celtic.
Boyd, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, was not impressed by the performance of Barkas for Celtic in their Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland this week.
The Scotsman believes that the Hoops need to bring back Forster now.
What Kris Boyd thinks
Boyd wrote about Barkas in The Scottish Sun: “His performances throughout last season were bad enough. But it’s become nothing short of embarrassing now.
“Yet again he cost Celtic with a ridiculous piece of goalkeeping to allow Midtjylland to score in Tuesday’s crucial Champions League qualifier.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “Why Celtic let Craig Gordon go, I’ll never know. Why they then didn’t go and get David Marshall is another head scratcher.
“Now they have to go out and bring in a replacement for Barkas and if Fraser Forster is a possibility then I don’t know what they’re waiting for.
“You can genuinely count on one hand the number of saves Barkas has made for Celtic.”

Fraser Forster speculation
Former Newcastle United prospect Forster has actually been linked with a return to Celtic this summer.
The Scottish Sun reported last week that the former Scottish Premiership champions are in talks with Southampton over signing the 33-year-old on a loan deal.
Forster, who reportedly earns £130,000 per week as salary, spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the Hoops.

Fraser Forster is needed
It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to strike a deal with Southampton and Forster.
It is hard to see the Hoops pay as much as £130,000 per week to the English goalkeeper.
However, there is no doubt that Forster would make Celtic better and would enhance the Hoops’ chances of having a successful season.
