Former West Ham United star Trevor Sinclair isn’t surprised to see reports linking Jarrod Bowen with a move to Liverpool this summer, speaking to talkSPORT (21 July, 11am).
The facts are these. Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will all turn 30 at some point during the next 12 months and, with just two years left on their contracts, the time has come for Liverpool to plan for life after one of the most exciting front lines in Premier League history has been broken up.
As Gini Wijnaldum discovered, Fenway Sports Group doesn’t often bow to the demands of a player entering the autumn of his career.
A 34-year-old Steven Gerrard suffered the same fate at Anfield.
And, with that in mind, it shouldn’t have come as that much of a shock to see Jordan Henderson linked with a move away from Merseyside, even if he’s the spiritual leader of the most successful Liverpool side since the turn of the century.
Could West Ham star Jarrod Bowen replace Mo Salah at Liverpool?
The Athletic has suggested the 2019 European Champions could make a move for Bowen.
The £20 million forward would arrive at Anfield as a back-up option initially, someone capable of developing under Klopp before eventually stepping into Salah or Mane’s shoes, similar to the role Diogo Jota has played since arriving from Wolves.

“I really like (Bowen) as a player. He’s athletic and has got great end product,” says former England international Sinclair.
“You look at Bowen and he’s a really well put together athlete. He makes good decisions and he’s only going to get better.
“So that (Liverpool interest) doesn’t surprise me.”
The Athletic reports Klopp is a big fan of the 24-year-old former Hull City youngster – and no wonder.
Bowen produced an impressive eight goals and five assists as West Ham qualified for the Europa League last season, showcasing the work rate, versatility and intensity that would suit Klopp’s system to a tee.
