Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez has rejected ‘important’ proposals from both Arsenal and Leeds United.
That’s according to a report from La Repubblica, who claim that both Premier League sides came forward with offers for Nandez.
Edu and Victor Orta were seemingly very keen to bring Nandez to England having impressed in Italy since his 2019 move from Boca Juniors.
However, Nandez isn’t interested in joining either club and is instead nearing a move to another Serie A club in Inter Milan.
Leeds have been particularly keen on signing Nandez. In June, Corriere dello Sport reported that Leeds were ‘very close’ to signing the Uruguayan.
Centrotrentuno even reported last week that Orta travelled over to Italy in search of a deal for Nandez, but that seemingly didn’t work.

Nandez, 25, played for Uruguay at Copa America this summer, crashing out in the quarter-finals at the hands of Colombia.
A diminutive and energetic midfield player, Nandez could have brought a real bite to either Arsenal or Leeds had they convinced him to join.
Maybe there is time to try and change his mind, but it looks like both clubs have now missed out on adding Nandez to their midfield options.
