Paul Merson told Sportskeeda that Harry Kane will win the Golden Boot next season ‘only if he stays at Tottenham’.
Rumours have been rife that the Spurs hitman wants to head for the exit door this summer.
The Premier League champions, Manchester City, are seemingly in front of the queue to land his signature this summer.
But, of course, Nuno Espirito Santo made it clear in his first press Tottenham conference that Kane won’t be going anywhere this summer, as he told Sky Sports.
And Merson shared why he could win the Golden Boot again next season if he stays put in North London compared to if he heads to the Etihad.
“No one knows what’s going to happen (with Kane’s future),” said Merson “But I think he will win the Premier League Golden Boot – only if he stays at Tottenham Hotspur though!
“I say this is because to win the Golden Boot, you’ll have to play more minutes. At Tottenham, he is the main man and plays literally every minute when he’s fit, allowing him to score bags of goals.
“He’ll obviously continue to bang them in it at Manchester City if completes a move to the Etihad Stadium, but you have to understand that he will not play every game under Pep Guardiola.
“If Manchester City have a big UEFA Champions League game on the horizon and a Premier League encounter against one of the bottom six sides, Kane could well be rested for these games.”

Well, it’s not only the crown of being the Premier League’s top-scorer that Kane will be looking to defend next season.
He was also the highest assist-maker and that’s another individual trophy he will be hoping to keep by his side.
It’s pretty remarkable that Kane didn’t walk away with any individual awards last season given that he produced the best campaign of his career, it’s something that surprised Aston Villa’s, Jack Grealish.
It begs the question as to what he actually needs to do in order to win a PFA award, or anything of that kind.
Tottenham as a team may have been abject, but Kane produced performances like he was playing for a title-winning side.
