Arsenal are reportedly trying to sell Alexandre Lacazette this summer, but new signing Nuno Tavares is a fan of his Gunners teammate, as quoted on the club’s official website.

Earlier this week, it was reported on the Transfer Window Podcast that Arsenal are keen to get Lacazette off their books.

Journalist Ian McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast that “Lacazette has been marketed very aggressively around Europe”, adding that there is no strong interest in the Arsenal striker.

We covered the claims here on HITC Sport.

What Nuno Tavares says

New Arsenal signing Tavares is a fan of Lacazette as well as fellow striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Following the match against Rangers yesterday, Tavares, signed from Benfica in the summer transfer window, said that he enjoys playing with Lacazette.

The youngster told Arsenal’s official website: “It’s good to play with the best, like Aubameyang and Laca. They’re very good players and to play with them, it’s so good.”

Are Arsenal making a mistake?

Lacazette has not banged in the goals for fun during his time at Arsenal.

The France international striker has scored 50 goals in 128 Premier League matches for the Gunners.

But you have to remember that Aubameyang is the number one striker at Arsenal.

However, Lacazette stepped up last season when Aubameyang struggled for form.

The 30-year-old scored 10 goals and gave three assists in the league, and scored three goals and provided one assist in the Europa League.

Lacazette is out of contract at Arsenal next summer, and there is a risk that the Gunners could lose him on a free.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side will be determined to finish in the Premier League top four next season, and the Frenchman will be an asset.
