Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles have claimed that Arsenal are desperately trying to sell Alexandre Lacazette.
Indeed, the journalists state that Arsenal are aggressively marketing the Frenchman to clubs across Europe, but as of yet, they’ve not been able to find any takers.
What’s been said?
The pair were speaking about Arsenal’s transfer plans this summer.
“A player who they would like to sell and get their wages away, but they are finding very difficult to sell is Alexandre Lacazette,” Castles said.
McGarry then added: “I have been told that Lacazette has been marketed very aggressively around Europe, but there’s not been any particular interest that is strong enough to suggest that Arsenal will be able to offload Lacazette.”

A matter of time
If Arsenal are truly marketing Lacazette aggressively around Europe it’s surely just a matter of time before he leaves.
The Frenchman was the Gunners’ top scorer last term, and while the London club haven’t been able to find a buyer so far, it surely won’t be difficult to find a club who are willing to take a chance on a player of his ability. After all, he’s previously been labelled as ‘brilliant’ by Mikel Arteta.
It’s interesting to hear that Arsenal want rid of Lacazette, and it will be even more intriguing to see how they try to replace him, whether that’s by making a new signing or promoting from within the club.
