Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for Lorenzo Insigne, according to RAI journalist Paolo Paganini on Area Napoli.

What’s the story?

As quoted in Area Napoli, well-connected and well-respected Italian journalist Paganini has said that Tottenham have made an important offer for the Napoli winger.

Area Napoli quotes Paganini as saying: “Lazio could put a player like Luis Alberto on the plate because they’re unable to meet Napoli’s economic demands.

“The most important offers have come from abroad, especially from Tottenham. After the Euros, Lorenzo has many new admirers.”

Tottenham Hotspur interest

This is not the first time that Tottenham have been linked with Insigne.

Last month, Il Mattino reported that Tottenham are interested in signing the Italy international winger.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Would Insigne make Tottenham better?

Insigne is out of contract at Napoli at the end of next season, and the Italian club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has suggested that he can leave if he wants to.

The 30-year-old Italy international winger has just won Euro 2020 and is a player at the top of his game.

The Napoli star is a right-footed winger who is often deployed on the left.

The Napoli no.24 scored 19 goals and gave seven assists in Serie A last season.

The winger scored eight goals and provided six assists in the league in 2019-20.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the Italian, and was quoted as saying by Goal in April 2019 that he “is a very good player”.

Insigne would be able to make an immediate impact at Spurs and would make Nuno’s side better and more potent in attack.
