After a summer of speculation involving Donyell Malen and Denzel Dumfries, PSV Eindhoven Director John de Jong has now spoken out.
What’s the story?
Well, speaking to Voetbal International, the Eredivisie outfit’s Technical Director seems resigned to losing the Dutch duo.
De Jong said: “Dumfries and Malen? We have not received a concrete offer yet. Of course, that can change very quickly. The chance of both of them leaving is of course very high.”

In this case, we’d be very surprised not to see both of the Netherlands international playing in the Premier League next season.
By the sounds of it, Everton are very close to signing Dumfries, after Inter Milan turned their attention to Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
In Malen’s case, Liverpool are keen, and were said to be in talks with the former Arsenal academy prospect.

Could Dumfries and Malen’s relationship be key?
Now it seems like both Dutchmen are definitely leaving, they could be tempted to move to the same area together.
The pair are close, spending plenty of time playing for PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands together.
In that respect, the prospect of living close to each other on Merseyside, playing for two top Premier League clubs, could be too hard to resist.
Settling into a new country is never easy, even more so during a global pandemic.
On that note, their relationship could be a key factor in the decision making behind their next chapter.
