According to Tuttomercatoweb, Lazio have increased their asking price for Tottenham Hotspur target Joaquin Correa to around €50million (£43million).

Tottenham have been linked with a ridiculous number of Serie A players since Fabio Paratici’s arrival as director of football, with Correa a top target.

Alfredo Pedulla reported earlier this month that Paratici is obsessed with Correa and wanted to bring him to Juventus for some time without any success.

Tottenham allegedly put £25million on the table in an effort to pip Paris Saint-Germain to Correa’s signature, but that won’t get the deal done.

It’s now stated that Lazio president Claudio Lotito has now hiked Correa’s price tag up to £43million – a huge £18million away from Tottenham’s offer.

The absolute lowest Lazio will consider is believed to be €35million (£30million), but Lotito now looks set to demand a huge €50million fee.

Correa, 26, hit 11 goals and six assists for Lazio last season, playing mostly as an attacking midfielder or second striker just off Ciro Immobile.

Correa just helped Argentina win Copa America, and that may well be driving Lotito’s desire to receive even more money for him – and now we may see just how ‘obsessed’ Paratici is after all.
