Goal journalist Charles Watts has said on his YouTube Channel that Arsenal are very confident that Ben White will join the Gunners this summer.

Ben White to Arsenal speculation

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that he has been told that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are confident of getting the transfer deal over the line.

However, Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion have yet to agree on a transfer fee over the former Leeds United loanee.

As reported on Sky Sports and on the Transfer Window Podcast, Arsenal have had two bids for the 23-year-old turned down by Premier League rivals Brighton.

Ben White latest

Watts said on his YouTube Channel: “The latest on Ben White is that a fee has not been agreed between the two clubs.

“I am told Arsenal are very, very confident that they can get this one over the line, but until it is done, you have got to put the celebration on ice, if you want to celebrate it.”

Exciting update

Watts is a well-connected and well-informed Arsenal correspondent.

Arsenal fans should be optimistic about White joining the Gunners following the update above.

There has been speculation that Chelsea and Manchester City want White, but it seems that he is now likely to join Arsenal.

The 23-year-old, who can also play as a right-back or in midfield, is on international duty with England at Euro 2020 at the moment.

The final will be played tomorrow.

It was always going to be tricky for Arsenal and Brighton to agree on a fee while White was away with England.

However, from Watts’s comments above, it seems that a deal could be finalised soon after the European Championship ends.

Arsenal signed Nuno Tavares from Benfica today, and there is speculation that they are on the verge of bringing in Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht.
