Besiktas have confirmed they’re in talks with Leicester City to sign Rachid Ghezzal with the Premier League misfit expected to leave the King Power Stadium for about £3 million, as reported by Sporx.
However much the Algeria international is sold for, the Foxes look set to make a massive loss on a player they bought from Monaco in 2018 to take the place of Riyad Mahrez on the right side of their attack.
Ghezzal has actually spent more time as a Leicester player away from the King Power, enjoying a spell at Fiorentina in 2019/20 before starring as Besiktas sealed a league and cup double last term.
The 28-year-old was a huge hit during his time in Istanbul, contributing eight goals and 17 assists. No wonder Besiktas want him back.
Will Rachid Ghezzal play for Leicester again?
“We are in talks with his agent,” Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi admits.
“Our talks with him are positive but we have not been able to resolve the situation with his club (Leicester) yet. Our talks will continue.”
Recent reports suggested Leicester would sell Ghezzal for about £5 million.
But, with just one year left on his contract, it seems the current FA Cup holders are willing to accept an even lower fee for a man whose tally of Premier League starts stands at a measly eight.

“We can get Ghezzal’s transfer for between €2.5 million and €3.5 million,” the winger’s agent, Anouir Fazuli, adds.
Three years on from his record-breaking move to Manchester City, Leicester are still looking to bring in a left-footed right-winger in the Mahrez mould, with Italy’s Euro 2020 ace Domenico Berardi the latest option after the Foxes missed out on Francisco Trincao and Florian Thauvin.
Cengiz Under, meanwhile, is now at Marseille after a forgettable loan spell in England.
