Celtic officially launched their striking Adidas third kit this morning as the Parkhead side edge closer to their first game under new boss Ange Postecoglou – and fans on Twitter are not happy one bit.
The Hoops new third kit is white with pink and green pinstripes and features the club badge in the middle of the jersey in something of a change from the norm.
After a season of disappointment at Celtic Park last term lead to fan protests and a mass exodus, there had been some goodwill gained over the summer with the appointment of Postecoglou as Neil Lennon’s replacement.
However, fans were clear on their dislike of the new third kit and were quick to make their feelings known on Twitter.
In addition to the green and pink pinstripes, the shirt also has Adidas’ iconic three stripes on the sleeves in the same darker shade of green as used elsewhere on the shirt.
The shorts and socks are both mainly white with pink Adidas-branded stripes.
As some sections of the Celtic support push for a boycott of club merchandise, they probably won’t have to do much to convince fans not to buy the latest offering by Adidas, with one supporter comparing it to a McDonald’s drinks straw.
