Tottenham Hotspur have just received a major boost in their reported quest to bring Miralem Pjanic to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Barcelona.
Tottenham Hotspur interest
Earlier this month, Sport reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Pjanic from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Spurs have enquired about signing the Bosnia and Herzegovina international midfielder on a loan deal.
Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan also want the 31-year-old.
Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paraticci knows the midfielder well from their time at Juventus.
Fresh development
Mundo Deportivo are reporting this morning that Barcelona have told Pjanic that he can leave for free.
The Spanish giants signed the midfielder from Juventus last summer for a transfer fee reported on the club’s official website to be worth €60 million (£51.50m).
Barcelona have offered the former AS Roma star the ‘Carta de libertad’, which will allow him to leave for free.

Tottenham Hotspur should pounce
It remains to be seen what Pjanic does.
If the midfielder takes up Barcelona’s offer to leave on a free, then Spurs should pounce.
Tottenham’s reported loan enquiry suggests that they are keen on the Bosnia midfielder.
Signing Pjanic on a free transfer would be a very good deal.
