Barcelona are willing to offload reported Tottenham Hotspur target Miralem Pjanic, according to Mundo Deportivo.
What’s the story?
Earlier this week, Sport reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Pjanic from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
It was claimed that Spurs have asked about bringing the former Juventus midfielder to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a season-long loan deal.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that Barcelona are willing to offload the 31-year-old midfielder.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international does not feature in the plans of Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman.
Juventus are also interested in the 31-year-old, and it is to the Italian champions that the midfielder would prefer to move to.
After all, it was from Juventus that Pjanic joined Barcelona last summer.
Door opens for Tottenham Hotspur
You would think that Barcelona would prefer to sell Pjanic this summer.
After all, if the midfielder does not feature in Koeman’s plans next season, then it is unlikely that he will do so ever again.
Moreover, Pjanic is now 31.
This certainly opens the door for Tottenham.
The Bosnian may have failed to make a huge impact at Barcelona, but he did well during his time at Lyon, Roma and Juventus.

Barcelona’s official website described Pjanic as ‘a total midfielder’ in June 2020.
“Pjanic has played in every midfield position, whether that be as an attacking midfielder at Metz or in a slightly deeper role at Olympique Lyonnais and Roma,” read the statement.
“His ability to join attacks whilst coming from deep as well as his excellent free kick taking abilities have seen him score his fair share of goals.
“Furthermore, his technical quality, vision of the game and commitment make him one of the best midfielders in football today.”
