Speculation is rife that Liverpool want to sign Saul Niguez.
Earlier in the week, AS in Spain claimed that Liverpool were keen on the Atletico Madrid star who, according to Mundo Deportivo, wants to leave the Spanish capital.
And if a report from La Razon is true, a move to Anfield is a bit more possible now.
That’s because they’re reporting that not only are Jurgen Klopp’s side keen, but the player himself is ‘seduced’ by the prospect of playing in the Premier League.
And that, if true, is brilliant news for Liverpool.
Klopp needs him
Remember, Liverpool have just lost Georginio Wijnaldum and need another midfield star, like Niguez – a title winner with Atleti this past season.
The Dutchman has joined Paris Saint-Germain after his contract at Anfield expired and although Klopp has a number of ready-made replacements, they aren’t reliable.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are both cut from the same cloth as Wijnaldum but, with their injury history, the German manager would be insane to bank on them.
With that in mind, Klopp does need Niguez – who earns £257,000 per week in Spain – and if he really does want a move to the Premier League, the Liverpool boss could really get him, too.
