Scottish Premiership giants Celtic look set to raid Sheffield Wednesday for the second time this year with Osaze Urhoghide in talks over a move to Parkhead, as reported by the Daily Record.
Five months ago, the Glasgow giants completed a deal that saw the highly rated Liam Shaw put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement at Parkhead.
Flash forward to early June and it seems another Hillsborough starlet may be about to join his former teammate north of the border.
New manager Ange Postecoglou is prioritising UK-based players as he looks to turn a sinking ship around.
And, while Urhoghide would arrive with just 19 league appearances under his belt, the 20-year-old defender is at least well versed in the hustle and bustle of British football.
His speed and physicality – not to mention an ability to play anywhere across the back four – should also hold him in good stead should he join a Celtic side in dire need of defensive reinforcements.
Is Leeds target Urhoghide heading to Celtic?
Netherlands-born Urhoghide rejected a new contract at Sheffield Wednesday following the club’s relegation to League One and, as of today, is a free agent.
Premier League trio Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Watford have all been linked but it’s believed Celtic are in pole position, their foot pinned to the accelerator as the finishing line looms.

The Record believes that although Urhoghide is technically without a club, the Glasgow giants will need to pay a compensation fee in the region of £200,000.
Yorkshire-based publication the Sheffield Star backs up those claims, adding Celtic have convinced Urhoghide he would be better served continuing his development at a club that gave a platform to the likes of Moussa Dembele, Kieran Tierney and Odsonne Edouard.
