Jose Enrique wants Liverpool to sign Alexander Isak after Sweden were knocked out of Euro 2020 on Tuesday night.

The ex-Liverpool defender wrote on Instagram that Isak is going to become a ‘world-class’ player in the future.

The 21-year-old is a seemingly sought-after figure, with Liverpool, amongst other clubs, keen on his talents.

Isak may have failed to score at Euro 2020, but his performances didn’t go amiss, with the Real Sociedad man doing more good than harm to his reputation.

It does seem as though the La Liga’s Young Player of the Year for 2020/21 does have a £60 million release clause in his contract, with Arsenal also lurking in the background for his signature.

And whilst the Reds don’t have to pay that, Enrique wants him to come to Anfield this summer.

He wrote this following message in the comments section of Liverpool Goals Instagram post:

“I will love to see him at Anfield,” said Enrique. “Really good player and I believe he is going to become a world-class player.”

Jurgen Klopp isn’t one to spend big on a player who would more than likely start up as a back-up at Anfield.

Therefore, it would be a surprise if the towering centre-forward moved to Merseyside this summer.

But that doesn’t hide the fact that Liverpool need that attacking depth in the final third, with their front three dropping off last season.

It’s not a case of any of them needing to be sold, but just like the signing of Diogo Jota last summer, that fresh lease of life needs to be injected into the team.
