According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have been forced to postpone their planned meeting for Tottenham Hotspur target Manuel Locatelli.
Locatelli hit the headlines at Euro 2020 with a superb brace against Switzerland, but was then benched in favour of Marco Verratti against Austria.
The Sassuolo star is still expected to land a big move this summer, but it may take a little longer than hoped.
Tottenham interest in Locatelli
With Fabio Paratici on board as Tottenham’s new director of football, Tottenham have been linked with a ridiculous number of Serie A players, with Locatelli one of them.
Gazzetta Dello Sport reported earlier this month that Tottenham were hoping to sign Locatelli, with Paratici keen to bring him to North London in a potential £34million move.

Juventus delay
The problem for Tottenham is that Juventus have been favourites to sign Locatelli for a while now, and Sky Sports suggested last week that Locatelli was nearing a move to Turin.
Now though, Di Marzio claims that whilst Locatelli is still the top priority for Juventus, they have have postponed their meeting with Sassuolo for another week.
Sassuolo aren’t impressed with the offers coming from Juventus at the moment, and the delayed meeting may see this saga drag on a little.

There’s still time for Tottenham
This does of course mean that there is a chance for Tottenham to swoop in and get a deal done for Locatelli, though that may be difficult without a manager in place.
Paratici seems to be a big fan of Locatelli though, and with his former club Juve are having to wait, he could seize an opportunity to strike.
