Tottenham Hotspur’s farcical search for a new manager continues, with new information emerging about Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui.
Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho back in April, but more than two months on, they still haven’t managed to find a replacement.
Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso have all been targeted, but Tottenham haven’t landed any of them.
What about Lopetegui?
Just a couple of weeks ago, Duncan Castles claimed that Tottenham were working on a deal for Lopetegui as he had become an additional candidate.
Castles then suggested that terms had been agreed to bring Lopetegui to Tottenham, but Brexit rules meant the deal fell through.
The former Real Madrid boss won the 2020 Europa League and guided Sevilla to a fourth place finish in La Liga last season.

Lopetegui has confirmed Tottenham approach
Sevilla president Jose Castro has been quoted by AS as saying that Lopetegui told him of a ‘dizzying’ approach from Tottenham.
However, Lopetegui allegedly isn’t interested in the money, and believes that he wouldn’t fare better at another club than he would with Sevilla.
Sevilla want to keep him too, so Tottenham’s chances of landing Lopetegui may well be over, especially with those alleged Brexit issues too.
“Julen called me and told me,” said Castro. “That he had had offers that he had not heard and a dizzying one from Tottenham, but he told me that he does not forget things and that he is very excited here. We believed and believe in him, signing him for two more years, and I am sure that he will give much more.”
“There are coaches to whom the economic issue can incite them more, but Julen has been very clear about it. He is very happy here and even told me that he will hardly work in another club better than here,” he added.
