According to The Athletic, Wolves are keen to sign Billy Gilmour after his Man of the Match display against England at EURO 2020.
What’s the story?
Well, the 20-year-old has caught the eye of Wolves after he won Man of the Match on his tournament debut for Scotland, in Friday’s 0-0 draw.
Norwich are also keen on the 4-cap Scotland international, but so too are Wolves who plan to use the loan market to bolster their midfield.
There’s a bit of a worry for Bruno Lage, however.
Canaries boss Daniel Farke was manager of Borussia Dortmund II while Thomas Tuchel was at Borussia Dortmund.
The Athletic claim that Norwich are hoping this relationship will give them an advantage in the race to sign Gilmour.
Gary Lineker thinks he’s brilliant

One man who couldn’t resist praising Gilmour back in March 2020 was Gary Lineker.
The BBC Match of the Day host watched the young playmaker tear Liverpool apart at Stamford Bridge, up against the likes of Fabinho.
After full-time in that clash, Lineker called the Scot ‘exciting’ and praised his awareness on the ball in particular.
Lineker said: “Blimey, what a mature display from an 18-year-old. It’s exciting when you see young players with that kind of talent and awareness of where they are on the field. It’s exciting.”

Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller even described Gilmour as being better than Barcelona legend Xavi, which is some claim.
Elsewhere, Roy Keane is also a fan.
The Manchester United icon said Gilmour is a ‘very, very good’ player during ITV’s coverage of EURO 2020.
If Wolves pull this off, it would be a fantastic loan signing.
