According to The Athletic, Liverpool teenager Remi Savage has decided to leave his boyhood club for a move to Newcastle United.
Many Liverpool youngsters have dreams of first-team football like Trent Alexander-Arnold or Curtis Jones, but that doesn’t happen for everybody.
With Ethan Ennis potentially off to Chelsea, another Liverpool youngster could follow him out of the club in defender Savage.
Savage to leave Liverpool for Newcastle
It’s now stated that Savage has turned down a new contract with Liverpool despite them being his hometown and boyhood club.
The teenager is willing to give up on his dream of playing for the Reds in order to move on and push for first-team football elsewhere.
Newcastle will be paying a compensation fee of around £250,000 to lure Savage away from Liverpool, bolstering their developmental ranks.

What has been said about Savage?
Liverpool’s official website describes the 19-year-old as being comfortable at left back or left-sided centre back, whilst he is ‘very competitive’.
Savage has been hailed at Liverpool in the past, with coach Barry Lewtas raving about him for an ‘excellent’ performance against Sunderland in January 2020, suggesting that he was not only physical and uncompromising but also impressive on the ball.
The defender also received praise from Lewtas in September 2019 for leading by example, and it now seems that Newcastle will be in charge of his development moving forward.
