Arsenal remain locked in talks to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, Football London report.
Arsenal took Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid last January and he impressed so much that he has become Mikel Arteta’s top target for this window.
Football London claim that Edu is convinced that he can sign the 22-year-old for Arsenal, despite Madrid changing managers.
And it seems that the lines of communication between the two sides are still open.
That could be encouraging for Arsenal, as Madrid have not shut off talks altogether, despite Carlo Ancelotti arriving.
Talks must be successful
Odegaard, himself, may well be open to returning to North London as he has previously spoken very highly about his time at Arsenal.
The Norwegian also said to Arsenal’s Youtube channel that Mikel Arteta was a ‘great’ manager.
The pressure has just increased on Arsenal to get a deal for Odegaard, who was described as ‘top quality’ by Unai Emery (Football London), over the line.
Arsenal have missed out on Emiliano Buendia, meaning that their hopes seem to entirely lay on Odegaard’s shoulders, as they look to sign a playmaker this summer.

Odegaard should be ready to step straight into the Gunners squad at the start of next season and thrive, as he had six months to acclimatise last term.
Odegaard generally impressed towards the back end of last campaign, although if Arsenal did sign him permanently they may want more in terms of goals and assists.
