Reported Leeds United target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is “ready for the Premier League” and expected to leave Russian outfit Rubin Kazan, the winger’s agent has told Soccer.

With clubs from all corners of Europe queuing up to sign the 20-year-old Georgia international, Rubin Kazan were never going to stand in Kvaratskhelia’s way as he closes in on a move that could catapult him into the big time.

Last week, sporting director Oleg Yarovinsky admitted the one-time Bayern Munich target was free to leave, even if his departure will “hurt”.

And, according to reports, Leeds are in pole position, their foot clamped on the accelerator even if the chequered flag isn’t in sight yet (Soccer).

Leeds hold talks over Kvaratskhelia

Leeds director of football Victor Orta has held talks over a deal that would see Kvaratskhelia swap the Republic of Tartarstan for the rolling hills of West Yorkshire.

The former Dinamo Tbilisi youngster recently signed up with the Base Soccer agency, with his representatives expected to turn a much-discussed transfer into reality.

“I see (Khvicha) is a footballer ready for the English Premier League. He has a high potential to develop in the Premier League,” says agent Sandor Varga.

“I know Rubin will be ready to let the player go if they receive a solid offer.

“But the team has made it to the European Cup for the first time in many years. Why not win it along with Khvicha and play in the Champions League or Europa League next year?”

Khvicha also interests Everton

Kvaratskhelia’s father is “100 per cent” certain his son won’t be a Rubin Kazan player when 2021/22 kicks off.

When quizzed about the Toffees’ reported interest in the jet-heeled wideman, however, Everton director of football Marcel Brands insisted that, while the club have been offered the chance to sign Kvaratskhelia, it isn’t an option they are currently considering.
