Director Marc Overmars has admitted that Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico is keen to leave the Eredivisie champions, with Leeds United interested, while speaking to Voetbal International.
When it comes to selling and replacing star players, the Amsterdam giants are the absolute masters.
Ajax stormed to the Eredivisie title this season despite cashing in on Hakim Ziyech, Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and Donny Van de Beek in recent transfer windows.
If Tagliafico does go this summer – and all the signs suggest he will – do not be surprised if Ajax continue to dominate the Dutch football landscape even without their industrious Argentine left-back.
AS reported recently that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds have expressed their interest in the £14 million-rated South American.
“A departure for Nicolás Tagliafico and (Brazilian winger) David Neres would make sense. It is no secret that they are open to a transfer,” Overmars admitted.

“Just as it is generally known that outgoing transfers are an important part of our income.
“But, at the same time, it cannot be predicted. Will the ideal club for those players come to pass? And what does it look like financially, for them and for us?”
Leeds, it seems, are precisely ‘the ideal club’ for Tagliafico.
More of a forward than a full-back, the 28-year-old is exactly the kind of all-action, attack-minded wide man who tends to thrive in a Bielsa team, scoring 12 goals for Ajax between 2018 and 2020.
