Celtic fans are yet to see the best of their 2019 signing

Vakoun Issouf Bayo might not have won over Celtic fans, but he’s made a big impact in France this week.
The striker was brought to Glasgow from Slovak side Dunajská Streda by Brendan Rodgers for £2m in January 2019, but has scored just twice in 17 games for the Scottish champions.
He was sent out on loan to Toulouse in August 2020, with the French second division side having an option to buy at the end of his year-long stay.
They may be more inclined to take up that option in light of his contribution this week.

The Ivory Coast international opened the scoring in Wednesday night’s ‘Derby de la Garonne’ between Toulouse and Bordeaux, with his side going on to win 2-0 at the home of the Ligue 1 club.
Toulouse currently sit second in Ligue 2, two points behind Troyes.
24-year-old Bako’s parent club also had a productive Wednesday, with Neil Lennon’s men beating St Mirren 4-0 in Paisley.
Tom Rogic had put the champions ahead in the first half, and their nerves were settled thanks to three late goals in quick succession from Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and David Turnbull.

Lennon was delighted following his team’s third successive win, with Record Sport quoting him as saying: “I thought we were outstanding. It looked like the Celtic team of this time last year – rampant, full of quality, full of running and full of goals.
“Coming here is always difficult but we could have won the game by five or six tonight comfortably.
“That was far more like us – you’re scratching your head and thinking ‘Where has it been all season?’.
“We’ve got more or less a clean bill of health at the minute, the players are playing a lot better. We look really strong.”
