Rangers will take on the Belgian side in February

‘Plunged into disarray’ might be an overstatement, but Rangers’ European rivals are certainly having a strange time of it.
Steven Gerrard’s men will come up against Royal Antwerp in February, but it looks increasingly unlikely that Didier Lamkel Zé will play any part in the Europa League tie.
In bizarre scenes, the Cameroonian forward turned up at training wearing the shirt of their First Division rivals Anderlect.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Lamkel Zé is believed to be pushing for a move to Greek side Panathinaikos.
The 24-year-old was turned away from the club’s training ground on account of the Anderlecht shirt, and only departed following an altercation with security staff.
He has since issued an apology on the club’s official Twitter account, saying: “I want to apologise to the club and to the Antwerp supporters, because they are magnificent and wonderful supporters. They have always supported me.
“If I reacted like this it is because my head was somewhere else. It was not easy for me.
“I really, really want to apologise for this gesture. I do not forget neither my team-mates in the locker room or the technical staff who have supported me since my arrival here.
“I am available for the club if the new coach needs me. I hope to find the supporters very soon on the pitch.”
The incident went viral on Wednesday morning, and will have caused major embarrassment to the side sitting fifth in the league, one point behind Anderlecht.
Rangers finished top of their Europa League group, beating Antwerp’s domestic rivals Standard Liege home and away.
The first leg of their last-31 tie takes place at the Bosuilstadion on February 18, before the sides meet again at Ibrox on February 25.
