As quoted by CalcioMercato, Zinedine Zidane has spoken about the future of his out of contract Real Madrid stars, including Tottenham Hotspur target Sergio Ramos.

The Real Madrid boss has outlined that he would like to keep Lucas Vazquez, Luca Modric and Ramos at the club beyond the summer, but of course, that is easier said than done.

“We want the issue of contract renewals to be resolved as soon as possible. I say this in everyone’s interest, and for our own good. I hope that everything will be resolved quickly,” Zidane said about his out of contract stars.

This isn’t great news for Spurs in terms of their pursuit of Ramos.

The centre-back is reportedly keen to stay with the La Liga giants according to Fabrizio Romano, and it seems as though the manager also wants to keep hold of him.

However, Ramos wants to stay on the same contract he’s on at the moment, and with the financial issues that have hit European clubs due to the ongoing pandemic, it remains to be seen whether or not Zidane and Florentino Perez are in a position to offer him the terms he wants.

Spurs are reportedly keen to sign him, and Mourinho has been keeping tabs on his situation, but it’s fair to say the Tottenham gaffer won’t be too overjoyed by what Zidane has said here.

Of course, Sergio Ramos would be a fantastic signing for Tottenham, after all, he is a four-time Champions League winner, but signing him looks as though it may be something of an impossible task as Madrid are keen to keep hold of their captain.
