Speaking on BT Sport’s pre-match coverage of Brighton vs Liverpool (BT Sport 28/11/20 12:30PM kick-off), Peter Crouch heaped praise upon Diogo Jota after his incredible start to life at Anfield.

The Portuguese star has been fantastic this term, netting nine goals so far in all competitions, and Crouch was astounded by how well he has settled in on Merseyside.

“Well it’s incredible, I think sometimes you can be overawed by the size of the club, he’s come from Wolves and it can take a little bit of time to settle in, but he’s hit the ground running.

“The biggest compliment I can pay him is it’s like he’s been there for five or six year, he’s slotted in right to what Jurgen Klopp wants.”

As an ex-Liverpool player, Crouch knows that coming in at Anfield can be a daunting task, and Jota has stepped up brilliantly.

Of course, the former England striker isn’t the first pundit to wax lyrical about the attacker.

Crouch said this before the game on Saturday, and Jota made sure to prove him right, netting the Reds’ opening goal against Brighton, and that would have been enough to earn his side all three points if it weren’t for a last minute penalty from Pascal Gross.

The BT Sport pundit is right to point out how well he has done this season, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his exceptional form can continue as the Reds try to wrestle back control of the Premier League title race.
