Fabrizio Romano has given his take on Twitter on speculation linking Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira with Fiorentina and AS Roma.

The well-known journalist, who works for The Guardian among other news outlets, has stated that it is difficult for Fiorentina to sign Torreira from Arsenal.

Romano has also dismissed speculation about a swap deal between the Gunners and AS Roma involving Amadou Diawara.

According to Firenze Viola, Italian club Fiorentina are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder and are in talks with the Gunners (click here to read more).

The report has claimed that the Serie A outfit’s loan-to-buy offer has fallen short of what the Gunners are demanding.

Il Romanista reported in August that Arsenal and Roma could strike a swap deal involding Torreira and Diawara (click here to read more).

Stats

Torreira has been on the books of Arsenal since the summer of 2018 when he joined from Italian club Sampdoria.

According to WhoScored, the Uruguay international made 17 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.

The 24-year-old midfielder also made three starts and three substitute appearances in the Europa League for the North London outfit during the 2019-20 campaign, according to WhoScored.
